How to Use Complementary Tech Solutions as Force Multipliers for Life Safety, Loss Prevention, and Investigation

Dara Riordan is president and chief operating officer of FaceFirst, Inc., a global leader in face-matching software.

FaceFirst is dedicated to the legal and ethical use of artificial intelligence technology for life safety, loss prevention, and consumer privacy. One key focus is retail safety and workplace violence with a real-time notification system for known threats. FaceFirst’s AI turns passive CCTV cameras into proactive, actionable tools that provide safer environments for clients’ employees and customers.

Riordan joined FaceFirst in 2019 after 14 years at Johnson Controls International in senior sales and strategic leadership roles. As a member of the Johnson Controls Women in Leadership board, she also focused on the development of young women in the physical security industry. In March 2023, the SIA Women in Security Forum recognized Riordan among the industry’s top 100 leaders.

Riordan has spent her 20-year career making the world a safer place. She is a regular presenter about emerging technology, policy, and governance to various industry groups, including NRF, RILA, LPRC, FMI, and NACS, among others. She serves as a board advisor on technology investments for Flatrock Wealth Partners.

Riordan earned a bachelor’s degree in communication and journalism from Loyola Marymount University.
