Retired 24-year law enforcement veteran David Ashford began his career as a US Marine, serving for ten years as a Military Policeman and weapons instructor (active and reserve). Following the Marines, he transitioned to civilian law enforcement. David served the Beaufort City Police, Fayette County Sheriff’s Office and the Lexington Division of Police, retiring as a Sergeant in 2012. David’s areas of focus and experience during his time with Lexington police included patrol, Emergency Response Unit special operations team member, instructor and team leader, recruit training academy instructor / supervisor. One of the courses David developed was the active shooter response training curriculum as well as the department policy. David was later tasked with building the advanced active shooter training curriculum and trained 1,000+ officers to respond to this type of incident. In 2010, David began work for Integrated Security Solutions, and currently serves as President leading a dedicated staff of 45 team members serving customers with video surveillance, access control and alarm system needs.

In 2018, David joined APB Consulting Solutions as a member / partner with the focus of helping businesses prepare to deal with active shooter threats in the workplace, facility treat assessments, training and related technology.

David serves on the board of directors for Bluegrass Crime Stoppers (Chair) and the Central Bank Advisory Board. David is a father of four wonderful children with his wife Kristin and they enjoy vacations in snowy and sunny destinations in addition to gardening, exercising and serving with their home church.
