William Melendez has more than 38 years of experience in Loss Prevention and Security, having served in the retail and theme park industries. As a result of this diverse experience, William has gained invaluable insight and knowledge in both industries. William has worked in big box retail, multi unit specialty retail, and theme park Loss Prevention and security operations. In 1986, William started his career within the theme park industry in security operations and crossed over to employee theft investigations. He obtained supervisory roles supporting the security and loss prevention efforts. During off seasons he simultaneously worked in retail with companies such as Federated Department Stores and the May Company. 

William then gained multi-unit and corporate Loss Prevention experience by transitioning into full-time retail with companies such as Pergament Home Centers, R&S Straus Discount Auto, TJX Corporation, and Polo Ralph Lauren. William then spent some time with a security/investigations’ vendor as Manager of investigations, overseeing integrity shops, shoplift agents and undercover employee operations for various retailers. William returned to the theme park industry in 1998 overseeing security operations for Six Flags Theme Parks. 

In 2006, William returned to retail as the Director of Asset Protection for DTLR, Inc. a fast-growing urban fashion retailer with stores up and down the east coast and Midwest. In 2018 William was promoted to Vice President of Asset Protection, where is still currently holds that position.
